Here are some pictures to show a little of
what the site was like when we took it over. We have cleared all of
the rubbish and weeds and the chickens are loving their free range
area and clearing it well. The dog kennels have been cleared and
refurbished and now home to pigs, geese, ferrets and guinea fowl.
The goats have eaten the jungle of brambles on the reservoir and the
commercial sheep have cleared the front field. We are now installing
new paddocks in the main field so the animals have new areas to
graze. We have also replaced all of the broken windows in the main
building and installed a toilet and washing facilities in the gate
house. There is now water to all of the paddocks too. Update 19/11/2011 We are now refurbishing the former USAF building for it to become our main centre of operations. This building will provide classrooms, kitchen, shower/toilet, IT suite, workshop, office, function room and coffee shop. The building is sound and we have electricity and water, the kitchen will be installed next week and about half of the rooms have now been painted. This compound is about an acre of very rough grass and scrub and is another big job to tackle. The verges on the road into the site have been cleared today and work on the gate house is continuing in earnest. Click on the pictures below to see full size. |
